In 2025, Wise Schools proudly celebrates 100 years of supplying quality school uniforms across Australia — marking a century of craftsmanship, innovation, and community.
From Humble Beginnings to National Recognition
The Wise story began in 1925, when Charles and Hilda Wise started making school blazers from their Thornbury home in Melbourne. What began as a small family venture quickly grew into a trusted name in schoolwear, supplying major retailers like Myer and Buckley & Nunn.
By the late 1940s, Wise had its own factory on High Street, and over the following decades, the next generations carried the business forward — expanding to serve hundreds of schools across Australia. The company remained family-run, adapting through changing times while keeping its strong focus on quality, durability, and pride in every stitch.
In 2017, Wise Schools Pty Ltd was formed to continue this proud legacy, bringing together nearly a century of experience with modern technology, ethical sourcing, and sustainable design.
